It’s stupid
that I gotta get off the bus
Just to keep going straight

Dear TTC,
The sounds of the night make my pillow fluffy
If only I was in bed.

Earlier, two guys scrapped outside
Inside, Zepology kept playing

Waiting for a-nother bus now. Young man hitchhiking
“When’s the last time you got picked up in Toronto?” I ask
“Never,” he says

Then a black Mercedes coupe slows, and one cool dark young lady
mmm mmm mmm

“Should I trust him?” she asks me
I, believing this being the start of a beautiful relationship, said, “Yeah.”

“Do you need a lift?” she asks me
I, having had experience with hitchhiking before, said, “Yeah,
but you already took too long negotiating him through the door.”

She smiles and speeds away
I get home finally,
in time for today
